| Job Description: |
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team in Accra, Ghana. This is a practical, hands-on role that focuses on documentation, compliance, and accounting support — ideal for candidates who want to grow in a professional business environment.
The Accountant will support the accounting and operations team with monthly tax filing, documentation management, supplier and customs-related records, and basic accounting tasks. The role requires precision, reliability, and strong organizational skills, rather than complex financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation & Record-Keeping
Maintain accurate and organized records of port-related documents, import/export files, supplier invoices, and payment receipts.
Ensure all accounting documents are properly filed and easily accessible for audits and internal reviews.
Keep updated files for shipments, customs clearance, and procurement payments.
Tax & Compliance Support
Prepare and assist with monthly tax filings in coordination with the accountant or tax consultant.
Maintain proper records for VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory filings.
Ensure timely submission of required tax documents to relevant authorities.
Accounting Support
Record daily expenses, invoices, and payment entries in the accounting system or spreadsheets.
Assist with invoice verification, payment preparation, and expense categorization.
Maintain records of vendor payments and follow up with suppliers for pending documentation.
Operational Coordination
Support the finance team with customs, shipping, and import-related payment records.
Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure all financial documents are complete and matched with shipments and purchases.
Assist in maintaining up-to-date records for internal cost tracking and audits.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in accounting, documentation, or administrative finance support.
Familiarity with basic tax filing procedures and accounting practices.
Good understanding of invoice processing, payment records, and document management.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic accounting software is a plus.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What We Offer
Competitive salary based on experience.
Opportunity to work in a dynamic, international business environment.
Career growth potential within a fast-growing real estate and construction company.
